Volunteers from Youth are Working recently volunteers to help build the new Waypoints Adventure Camp for Children and Youth at Southwest Pond. Participants from Youth are Working volunteered to lay sod as part of the “Youth are Volunteering” program. The Adventure Camp is based on the belief that children and youth in our community will benefit from therapeutic, challenge-based recreation and adventure in a camp setting. Waypoints Executive Director, Rick Kelly, thanked our volunteers and acknowledged the critical need for such a camp in our community: “We hope to foster positive growth, by providing opportunities for disadvantaged and vulnerable children and youth in our province to simply “have fun” in a wilderness atmosphere”
