Applying for Employment Insurance

Employment Insurance (EI) provides temporary financial assistance to unemployed Canadians who have lost their job through no fault of their own, while they look for work or upgrade their skills. If you are sick, pregnant, or caring for a newborn or adopted child you may also be assisted by EI.

One of the easiest ways to apply for EI is through this link:

REMEMBER: Always apply for EI benefits as soon as you stop working. You can apply for benefits even if you have not yet received your Record of Employment (ROE). If you delay filing your claim for benefits for more than four weeks after your last day of work, you may lose benefits.
